SSC(CGL) Examination comprises of four stages as explained below.
Tier – I Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type, Online, 4 sections, 100 questions, Total Marks 200, Time 60 minutes, No Sectional cut off, Negative marking of 0.50 marks deducted on every wrong answer)

Pattern of Tier -I Examination:

Tier –I of the SSC CGL Exam will be common for all categories of posts
There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Tier-I.
Questions will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice, set both in Hindi and English in respect of Parts A, B and C.
The questions in Reasoning, GA and English will be of a level commensurate with the Essential Qualification viz graduation and questions in Quantitative Aptitude will be of 10th standard level.

Pattern of Tier -II Examination:
This is the second stage of the exam and only those candidates who qualify the first stage (Tier -I), will be allowed to sit in this exam . It is also a objective type test . The Tier 2 exam will be conducted via 3 papers . Paper 1 is compulsory for all the candidates and will be conducted in 2 sessions and take place in 2 shifts on the same day of the exam . Session 1 will have section 1, section 2 and module 1 of section 3. It is mandatory to qualify in all sections of paper 1. Session 2 includes Module 2 of Section 3.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Paper 1
Section 1 :
Module -1 Mathematical Abilities - 30 Questions - 90 marks - 23% weightage
Module -2 Reasoning and General Intelligence - 30 Questions - 90 marks - 23% weightage
Total marks in Section 1 including both modules = 180 marks - 46% weightage

Section 2:
Module 1 English Language and Comprehension - 45 Questions -135 marks - 35% weightage

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern - Paper 2 and Paper 3M
Paper 2 - Statistics- 200 marks -100 questions - 2 hours (2 hours and 40 minutes for VH candidates)
Paper 3 - General Studies (Finance & Economics)- 200 marks -100 questions - 2 hours ( 2 hours and 40 minutes for VH candidates)
Note :
Paper-I is compulsory for all the categories of posts.
Paper-II is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer.

Paper 3 is compulsory for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer
NOTE - Paper I of the SSC CGL will be common for all categories of posts while Paper 2 for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation. Paper 3 is compulsory for the candidates who are applying for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.

Every incorrect answer will lead to a deduction of 0.5 marks in the Tier 1 of SSC CGL Exam where as in Tier 2 of SSC CGL Exam , there will be negative marking of 1 for each wrong answer in Paper 1 ,Paper 2 and Paper 3.

SSC CHSL Examination pattern and Syllabus

Module 2- Skill Test/Typing Test - Total Time of 25 minutes. - Skill Test is for DEO and Typing Test for LDC/JSA
Tier 2 of SSC CHSL will be conducted in 2 sessions - Session 1 and Session 2 on the same day. Session 1 will include conducting of Section 1, Section 2 and Module 1 of Section 3. Session 2 will include conducting of Module 2 of Section 3.
There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section 1, Section 2 and Module 1 of section 3.

SSC MTS Examination pattern & Syllabus

Total Questions in Session 2 will be 50 , Total Marks will be 150 , Total Time will be 45 minutes and this session will have negative marking of 1 for each wrong answer.

SSC CPO Examination pattern and Syllabus
